Large Motor: I wonder how ants get across all the steep tress and ledges. Ms. Jessica will be mirroring how ants crawl with food on their back and end with going to their colony!
Science: An ant will grow up just like we do, but an ant will go through four stages of life. Ms. Payton will be making diagrams of each stage using paint, paper plates, and bowls with the preschoolers to show them how ants go through life.
Music: We’ve got ants in our pants and we’re ready to dance! Ms. Lily has the perfect song for us to dance like the ants and march like they do.
Small Motor: We all know that ants are plenty neat and it’s a shame that we can’t keep them in our home. Ms. ---- has a great idea, the kids will make their very own using spoons and pipe cleaners.
Literacy: How do I explain what ants are like? Ms. Kayla knows tons of ant words, and soon the preschoolers will, too! In this activity the kids will be practicing how to hold a pencil by writing out ant words and learning cool facts along the way.
Math: We’re going to need just the right amount of pom poms to make the body of our ants! Ms. Claudia’s got the perfect plan, the kids will roll dice to know exactly how many is needed! They will count their pom poms and correspond it to the ant with the same amount of empty spaces.
Social-Emotional: All the ants have gotten loose and they’re on the run! Luckily, Ms. Vanessa has a map of the room, the kids will find them in no time. With the help of their friends, the preschoolers can finish the ant hunt!
