Week 3 Pumpkin Week
We visited Goebberts Farm this week! The kids loved playing in the play area, taking a wagon ride, and visiting the animals. It was a great day for everyone!
Science: Dissolving pumpkins? Wow! Ms. Rylee planned a science experiment testing out different solutions to see which can make the gummy pumpkins dissolve.
Music: Mm Mm pumpkin stew! Ms. Abigail’s activity calls for different fall ingredients to make the pumpkin stew. Whichever kid has the ingredient they get to put it in the pumpkin while singing a pumpkin song.
Large Motor: Ms. Angelica has a knockout activity for us! Using a pumpkin ball, the kids will be using their aiming skills and strong arms to roll the pumpkin across the floor and knock down as many ghost pins as they can.
Small Motor: Pumpkins come in all shapes and sizes, each of them as unique as the last. This week Ms. Maria and Ms. Sara will be making tissue paper pumpkins with the kids.
Cooking: We’re in the mood for something sweet! Ms. Makayla has planned pumpkin treats for us all to eat. The kids will be mixing marshmallows, Rice Krispy cereal, and orange coloring to make pumpkin Rice Krispy treats.
Math: Pick a card, any card! What’s your number? Ms. Jackie has a game for us to play. The kids will pick a number from a deck of cards and count the pumpkin seeds to place them in their own “pumpkin”!
Social Emotional: Have you ever seen a sad pumpkin? Or even a happy pumpkin? Well in Ms. Cynthia’s activity she has pumpkins will all different faces. The kids will talk about how the pumpkin looks and feels.
Literacy: Let’s do a roll call… pumpkin style! Ms. Stacy will have the kids trace each of their names in pumpkin seeds while practicing letter recognition.
